Purple rinse ...

well, actually not quite! As her friends had coloured their hair recently, Katie wanted to have some streaks put into hers. There wasn't much choice in Boots of "bright" colours (other than the blonde shades), so we chose purple and had a go yesterday dyeing her hair in sections.

How people do this on a regular basis I don't know - the mess! We had old towels all over the bathroom floor to catch any wayward splashes, and more old towels around her shoulders. Sitting there for 30 mins. drawing while the colour took hold seemed an age (to her), but the results look fab. Sadly we've also dyed the backs of her ears and parts of her cheek and neck - but, well, this is our first go!

I've managed to contain the mess after years of trying out different dyes but the smell - I never quite get to grips with the smell!
